Some memories captured from our Children’s Angling event which took place last Saturday 26th July’25.
It was a great success and a good evening was had by all. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the day, demonstrating the art of fishing and everything else associated with making the evening the success that it was. To Gary Smyth for providing the yummy burgers. Thank you so much to all our sponsors, Jim Connell, Ballaghaderreen, Castlebar Fishing Tackle, JP Guiblain, Bernard Mannion, and to all who donated an array of fishing tackle. The children who were lucky enough to win one of those prizes went away very happy. Thank you also to Michael Tiernan, who provided the Fishing Simulator which went down a storm with the children.
Thank you to the Inland Fishery officers who attended the event and who provided information leaflets, and goodies to give away on the day. To Hilary Lavin (Safety Officer) who ensured the safety of all, thank you. This event would not happen without the hard-working committee who spent weeks leading up to this event making sure everything was in place. Well done one and all. Here’s to the 2026 event.
